2012

On Sunday 13th May 2012 a group of youngsters from Llandudno and District Riders Club                                               represented their club at an area qualifier for the FOTH

Area 20 held on Sunday 13th May at Llanymynerch the qualifier competition for the Festival of The Horse. The Llandudno Riders Junior team that consists of Alex Davies age 18, Dylan Chaplin age 15, Shannon Williams age 12 and Lilli-Anne Pardoe age 12. Qualified for the championships to be held at Aston Le Walls on the 3rd June. Lilli-Anne was placed 2nd overall and Dylan came 3rd overall.

The junior pairs consisting of Dylan and Shannon also took first place in the pairs competition. They are all looking forward to travelling to Daventry, Northants in half term to compete and represent their club. They are a young team and have done very well to qualify for such a big championship against stiff competition from the other clubs in the area.

Shannon, Dylan and Lilli Anne also represented the club last September at the Riding Club National Championships in Lincolnshire an experience they will always treasure, they held their own against competitors much older than them and horses much bigger than their little ponies.

Dylan rides a Connemara named Celt, Shannon rides a Section D named Billy, Lilli-Anne rides a hafflinger named Harri and Alex rides Ranchella a they have all been paired with their ponies/horses for some time, unfortunately due to ever growing legs Celt and Billy are for sale. All of the team enjoys XC and SJ, Shannon also likes dressage. Dylan and Shannon have previously competed at pairs in SJ, but this was their first time together at FOTH. They did very well with Shannon and Billy setting the pace for Dylan and Celt, (as they have been known to go too fast) they jumped the dress fences absolutely together, for two young riders they did very well.

Elinor Lampard another junior competed at intermediate level and took second place she too will be representing the club at the Championships.

The club had two junior teams and a senior team at the event and senior pairs who all got respectable scores.

The club regularly holds competitions, clinics and social evenings, throughout the year. Teams represent the Club at area competitions at different disciplines.

The riding club area 20 covers North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.

We'd also like to congratulate Lilyann Pardoe who qualified for the championships at the area qualifier in Nantwich on
8th of July for style and show jumping.

Well done at the prelim Sian came 2nd, Mared 3rd, & RT Sian 5th
